Australian Grantmakers Conference

another conference notice for next year.

The Australian Institute of Grants Management (which I had not heard of before) is running a conference called Best Practice in Grants Management in Melbourne on 25 February – hmmm this clashes with the FIA fundraising conference.

It’s a conference for grantmakers and funders (for federal, state and local government grantmakers) as well as philanthropic bodies’ staff with two half day seminars the day before. Seems quite reasonably priced (makes me think that the more you need the information the more it costs while the inverse is true).

I bet a lot of grantseekers would really like to know what goes on at these meetings (and would love access to some of the participants).

Any thoughts on this?

Just in: 20 December 2010 – conference program now available.

On the one hand one lauds their getting together and sharing tips – but on the other, wouldn’t it be nicer to have a dozen different, non-standard ways of bestowing the goodies – otherwise might as well just have one main distribution point and one set of criteria…
